True story about Boston-born fighter, Micky Ward. Just like "Rocky" including the nice girlfriend, the piece-of-shit brother (in "Rocky" it was his best friend), good-guy manager, and the nefarious fight promoter. The only difference was in "Rocky" they had "Smoking" Joe Frasier, and this time they had "Sugar Ray" Leonard. I thought "Rocky" was a better story. Where was "Butkus"? The End. I would rate it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. (2010 - R)
Rocky did not have Melissa Leo and Christian Bale. Rocky was fiction and this movie was true. Yes, everybody carried Mark Wahlberg around the ring after the fight, but the fight actually ended the way it was portayed in the movie. Rocky was great, but "The Fighter" was better!
